Live-In Care Assistant (Female - Occupation Requirement)
About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Female Live-In Care Assistant to provide one-to-one support within a client’s home.
Live-in care involves residing in the customer’s home to provide full-time support, companionship, and reassurance. This is one of the most comprehensive forms of care, enabling individuals to remain safely and comfortably in their own home while receiving personalised, round-the-clock support.
Due to the personal care needs and expressed wishes of the service user, this role is open to female applicants only. This is considered a Genuine Occupational Requirement in line with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
What Live-In Care Means
As a Live-In Care Assistant, you will:
- Live in the customer’s home during your placement
- Provide tailored support aligned with their care plan
- Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
- Offer emotional reassurance and companionship
- Work closely with families and healthcare professionals where required
This role is not just about practical support — it’s about becoming a trusted, consistent presence in someone’s life.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties may include:
Personal & Physical Care
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Supporting mobility and safe transfers
- Assisting with prescribed physiotherapy exercises
Health & Medication
- Medication prompting or administration (as trained)
- Monitoring health and reporting changes
- Liaising with GPs, district nurses, and other professionals
- Accompanying to medical appointments
Daily Living Support
- Meal preparation and nutritional support
- Light household duties (laundry, cleaning, shopping)
- Supporting social activities and outings
Emotional & Social Support
- Providing companionship and meaningful engagement
- Encouraging hobbies and interests
- Being a source of reassurance on challenging days
Schedule
- Monday to Sunday
- Rotation with other staff
- Flexible placements depending on client needs
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Care Assistant (required)
- Experience with personal care
- Compassionate, patient, and emotionally intelligent
- Ability to work independently in a client’s home
- Strong communication skills
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
