The successful Behaviour Manager will become an important part of this structure and will work directly with students while also supporting staff and communicating with families.
Behaviour Manager Role
The school is seeking an experienced and confident Behaviour Manager to coordinate behaviour support across the school.
The successful candidate will monitor behaviour incidents, provide targeted interventions and support consistent implementation of the school's behaviour procedures.
You will work with students who require additional support and help identify patterns or barriers that may contribute to behavioural difficulties.
The role will involve communication with parents and carers, collaboration with teachers and pastoral teams and regular reporting to senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day behaviour support across the school.
Monitor behaviour incidents and identify patterns.
Maintain accurate behaviour records.
Support staff with the implementation of behaviour procedures.
Provide targeted intervention for students.
Build positive professional relationships with pupils.
Conduct restorative conversations.
Help students understand the impact of their behaviour.
Develop individual behaviour support strategies.
Monitor students receiving behaviour interventions.
Work closely with Heads of Year and pastoral leaders.
Communicate with parents and carers.
Attend behaviour-related meetings.
Support individual behaviour plans.
Provide relevant behaviour information to senior leaders.
Assist with serious behaviour incidents.
Support students returning following exclusions or other sanctions.
Work alongside safeguarding staff when appropriate.
Identify wider issues that may contribute to behaviour concerns.
Support staff with practical behaviour-management strategies.
Contribute to whole-school behaviour initiatives.
Promote positive relationships between students and staff.
Encourage consistent expectations across the school.
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Follow safeguarding procedures.
Contribute to improving behaviour systems and student engagement.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have substantial experience working with young people in a behaviour, pastoral, inclusion or student-support capacity.
Previous secondary school experience is highly desirable.
You should be confident dealing with challenging behaviour while remaining calm, consistent and professional.
The school is looking for someone who can establish positive relationships with students while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.
Strong communication skills are essential because you will regularly work with students, parents, teachers and senior leaders.
You should also be highly organised and capable of managing multiple behaviour cases and administrative responsibilities.
Requirements
Significant experience working with young people.
Previous behaviour, pastoral or inclusion experience.
Secondary school experience is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of behaviour-management strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
