Compensation Analyst
Are you an analytically driven compensation professional with a passion for data, governance, and strategic reward?
We're looking for a high-calibre Compensation Analyst to join a flexible and high-performing team, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping compensation strategies across the UK and Europe.
The Opportunity
As a Compensation Analyst, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of compensation programmes. These include base salary, short-term incentives, and equity plans. You'll partner closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and senior leaders, providing expert advice to ensure compensation decisions are both commercially sound and aligned with regulatory frameworks.
This is a fantastic opportunity to influence reward strategy within a highly regulated financial services environment, while leveraging data to drive meaningful insights and outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and implement competitive and compliant compensation solutions aligned with organisational principles
- Advise HRBPs and leaders on pay decisions, including offers, retention strategies, and pay equity considerations
- Support major business initiatives such as restructures, mergers, and role realignments
- Deliver analysis and reporting to advance Gender Pay and broader Diversity & Inclusion objectives
- Interpret and apply market data to provide practical insights on compensation trends and spend
- Lead and support the year-end compensation cycle, including governance, modelling, and reporting
- Ensure adherence to PRA, FCA, and EBA remuneration regulations
- Build robust, efficient processes-leveraging automation and continuous improvement
- Develop materials for governance committees and regulatory submissions
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in compensation, reward, or total rewards roles
- Strong understanding of UK and European remuneration regulations (PRA, FCA, EBA)
- Advanced Excel skills are essential - you must be confident using:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUPs (and similar functions)
- Large data set manipulation and analysis
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a deadline driven approach.
- Strong communication skills, including handling sensitive compensation discussions
- Confident in influencing stakeholders and challenging decisions where necessary
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage large volumes of data
Desirable
- Experience with systems such as Workday, SAP, or ADP
- Knowledge of market data tools such as PayFactors or McLagan
