About the team and the role:
The Global Information Security team directs security compliance initiatives across eBay Payments, Marketplaces, Corporate IT, and related businesses. This role works closely with business leaders to evaluate and enhance security compliance, ensuring it aligns with industry standards while meeting business requirements. The Security Compliance Engineer is essential in guiding assessments, advancing remediation efforts, and reinforcing security measures throughout a global organization.

What you will accomplish:
- Lead security compliance audits and assessments, identifying gaps and driving remediation to strengthen security practices
- Collaborate with business leaders and cross-functional teams to balance compliance requirements with business priorities
- Develop and implement remediation programs to address non-compliant areas and improve overall security posture
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations through regular reporting to teams and senior collaborators
- Support adoption of new security controls and standards by guiding teams through implementation and transition strategies
- Contribute to the evolution of eBay’s security compliance program by identifying process improvements and applying industry guidelines
- Coordinate audit and compliance activities across teams, ensuring alignment and efficient execution
What you will bring:
- 7+ years of experience in security and compliance, ideally within eCommerce, payments, or technology environments
- Familiarity with industry frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar
- Experience managing third-party audits, including coordinating evidence collection across teams
- Solid grasp of security measures, threats, and regulatory requirements within a worldwide organization
- Working knowledge of networking, encryption, authentication, cloud and application security, and payment infrastructure
- Ability to operate across both strategic and operational levels in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across diverse teams and collaborators
