Parts Advisor – Barking | up to £30,000 + Overtime at Time & a Half

Stable, permanent role | 42.5 hours per week | Overtime paid at time and a half

We are recruiting for an experienced Parts Advisor to join a successful and growing Parts Department in Barking. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least two years’ parts experience who enjoys working with customers, supporting engineers and keeping a busy depot running smoothly.

You’ll join an established team where your product knowledge, customer service skills and ability to keep things organised will be valued.

Key Responsibilities

As a Parts Advisor , you’ll play an important role within the depot, supporting both customers and the engineering team.

  • Deal with customer orders received by telephone, email, online, trade counter and sales staff
  • Answer incoming internal and external calls and take ownership of customer enquiries
  • Order parts and attachments for workshop and field engineering jobs
  • Identify suitable parts using catalogues and price lists
  • Order, receive, store and monitor stock levels
  • Support the service team with estimates for retail work
  • Identify opportunities for additional sales and suitable product alternatives
  • Ensure parts are correctly invoiced before leaving the stores area
  • Deliver parts and attachments to customers using a company van
  • Operate a forklift truck safely and responsibly
  • Complete administration accurately and maintain a clean, organised depot

What we’re looking for

You’ll need previous parts experience and a customer-focused approach, along with the ability to manage multiple demands in a busy environment.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Parts Advisor is essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of parts and their applications
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Confident using computers, including basic Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good administration and organisational skills
  • Forklift truck qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-motivated, honest and reliable
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a busy, pressurised environment
