Location: Greenford, onsite with some flexibility (occasional remote working)
Rate: £30 PAYE (+ 4.36 Holiday pay)/ £40.91 Umbrella UP TO £35 PAYE (+£5.09 Holiday pay)/ £47.73 Umbrella
Contract: 12 months (potential to extend or go permanent)

About the Role

Morson is currently recruiting a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our defence client at their Greenford facility. You’ll play a key part in reviewing production equipment, developing improvement strategies, and supporting long-term investment planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess all production equipment, categorising each asset by breakdown risk.

• Evaluate and optimise TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) processes.

• Develop and implement mitigation plans – such as outsourcing, maintenance contracts, training, documentation improvements, or equipment replacement/overhaul.

• Prepare and manage a 5-year capex strategy and plan.

• Produce business cases for priority equipment replacements and outsourcing.

• Draft purchase and equipment specifications to support implementation.

• Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives across manufacturing operations.

About You

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or HNC in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline.

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to prepare business cases and justify investment proposals.

• Understanding of maintenance strategies, TPM, and equipment lifecycle management.

Desirable

• Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above preferred).

• Experience within a high-reliability or complex production environment.
