New Practice Clinical Director - North West London

Are you a visionary Veterinary Surgeon and proven leader ready to launch and lead a brand-new practice to success?
We are seeking an ambitious Clinical Director to take the helm of an upcoming, state-of-the-art clinic in North West London. This is a pivotal role where you will have the autonomy to drive overall clinic performance, overseeing all clinical, financial, and people aspects, supported by an innovative and growth-focused leadership team.
Your Impact and Responsibilities
This role is about hands-on clinical leadership and strategic direction, blending 80% clinical time with essential management duties. You will be the figurehead of the practice, leading by example and promoting a model built on clinical excellence, client focus, and team wellbeing.
1. Clinical Excellence & Leadership
Your primary focus is ensuring the highest standards of evidence-based clinical care and practice.
- Hands-on Clinical Role: Spend approximately 80% of your time actively engaged in clinical work.
- Team Development: Directly line manage, support, and develop the Veterinary team, the Head Nurse, and the Practice Manager.
- Quality Improvement: Lead clinical governance, organise and implement clinical audits, and direct continuous professional development (CPD) and education within the team.
- Empowerment: Ensure all team members, including nurses, are allowed to work to their maximum qualification, fostering excellent teamwork.
2. Business Performance & Strategy
You will drive the local clinic strategy and financial health, operating within a clear framework and with leadership support.
- Client Acquisition: Direct and promote client acquisition, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) and achieving membership objectives.
- Financial Management: Work within the allocated budget, understand the P&L, and utilise KPIs to influence performance targets, with a primary financial focus on achieving the time to break even.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee critical areas including HR, recruitment, health & safety, and marketing engagement, ensuring an excellent client experience at all times.
3. Wellbeing & Culture
You will be the champion for a positive, inclusive, and people-first culture.
- Culture Development: Develop a culture of respect and inclusion, promoting an honest and open environment (including the use of "Vetsafe").
- Wellbeing Advocate: Understand the importance of wellbeing, identify issues early, and provide support/signposting (e.g., Mental Health First Aid).
- Company Advocate: Act as an advocate in the veterinary industry and beyond, helping to develop and mould the company's aims and ethos.

Your Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong clinical background.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience with a focus on team development and clinical standards.
- A passion for an innovative business model and the drive to promote its aims to both team and clients.
- Excellent communication skills for leading team conversations, managing client relations, and overseeing complex cases.
