Summary of Position
The IT Placement at Pirum will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day management (BAU) of
dd Windows and Mac users across the organisation and supporting business applications and automation. This position is designed for candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme, offering valuable industry experience to complement their studies.You will support and maintain laptops using Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and Apple Business Manager, focusing on endpoint security and vulnerability remediation. Alongside routine tasks, you will assist with projects like Windows Hello rollout, BitLocker PIN deployment, and transitioning to a new MacOS MDM solution. You will be working with cloud native and Gen AI based productivity technologies from vendors like Microsoft, Apple, Cisco, Salesforce to provide solutions and support.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of IT principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for learning about modern workforce technologies. This role suits a proactive individual who can contribute to both operational tasks and project-based work in a dynamic FinTech environment.
You will provide Pirum employees and contractors with technology that enables them to work securely and effectively
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide end-user support on BAU tasks both onsite and remotely, including troubleshooting Windows and MacOS issues, application support and user account queries.
Work with team on identifying and resolving vulnerabilities.
Support Workforce IT projects such as Windows Hello and BitLocker Start PIN rollout.
Document procedures and prepare user guides.
Perform hardware setup, replacement, and troubleshooting (including PC builds, diagnostics). • Collaborate with departments to meet software and configuration requirements.
Test new software, hardware, and services for system compatibility and rollout.
Assist with asset management and inventory tracking.
Required Skills:
Good understanding of Microsoft Windows operating system and MacOS (on the job training to use administrative tools will be provided)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Basic analytical or troubleshooting mindset.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
Interest in networking, security concepts, or endpoint management.
Experience with Dell and Apple hardware.
Exposure to or interest in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) is a plus but not required
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program related to Information Technology, Computer Science.
Familiarity with MDM solutions like JAMF Pro, Microsoft Intune or other device management solutions is a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolutions.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
