The role
In this newly created role of Fundraising & Partnerships manager, you will play a vital part in supporting Orbit to maximise the work of its Community Investment team, by raising additional
funding and resources to complement its existing budget. This role will be a mixture of agile working, and travel between offices and partners sites.
For this role, you can be based out of any of our offices (Norwich, Hastings, Coventry, Stratford on Avon, Maidstone, Bexley).
This role is part of our Customer directorate where you'll help us to lead the way in keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.
What you'll achieve
- To lead and develop Community Investment’s Fundraising Strategy and Plan, meeting an agreed annual unrestricted fundraising target.
- Develop relationships with funders and delivery partners to submit compelling applications to generate restricted and unrestricted income.
- Remain vigilant for developments and opportunities for developing and diversifying Orbits Community Investment funding.
- Maintain and develop relationships with individuals and organisations to support fundraising, using a range of appropriate communication tools including formal written reports, newsletters, social media channels, personal communication and/or face-to-face meetings.
- Represent Community Investment at partnership meetings, conferences and thought leadership events to promote the work of Orbit and the team and generate partnership leads.
- Ability to travel to meet the requirements of the role which covers Orbit geography and occasional weekend and after-hours cover, with wider travel as necessary.
What you'll bring
Essential skills
- Proven track record in raising at least £300k per annum from unrestricted income streams including corporate partnerships, community fundraising events, and individual giving.
- Experience of managing a portfolio of corporate partnerships.
- Demonstrable understanding of all areas of charitable fundraising and an ability to prioritise those most appropriate.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Experience of bid preparation and grant management.
- Proven networking and negotiation skills.
Desirable skills
- Knowledge of one of more of the following:
- Community Development / Housing / Customer welfare / Government Funding
- Fundraising Qualification
- Working knowledge of fundraising databases
