We are seeking a technically accomplished and highly experienced Associate Director to join our Biomedical Engineering Sciences Practice. This role is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in orthopaedic measurement, bio-metrology, and medical device performance.
As part of our elite consulting team, you will lead high-stakes biomedical engineering investigations, provide expert technical and regulatory advice, and support litigation matters involving medical devices, implants, and combination products.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex biomedical engineering investigations, including orthopaedic implants, surgical instruments, medical devices and combination products.
- Conduct root cause analyses using advanced measurement, imaging, and experimental techniques.
- Advise clients on device design, performance, and regulatory compliance (FDA, EU MDR, ISO standards).
- Prepare technical reports, expert statements, and evidence for litigation, regulatory, and risk management purposes.
- Provide thought leadership, publish findings, and represent the practice in professional and standards committees (ASTM, BSI, XCT societies).
- Drive business development and contribute to expanding the practice’s client base.
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Bio-Metrology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven track record in standards development and professional committees.
- Strong technical leadership, project management, and mentoring experience in academic and applied research environments.
- Experience preparing technical reports for regulatory or legal purposes highly desirable.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical findings for non-technical audiences.
