Senior Housekeeper

Location : Mayfair, London

Schedule :

• When the family are not in residence: Monday 8am–5pm, Tuesday–Thursday 8am–4pm, Friday & Saturday off, Sunday 9am–6pm
• When the family are in residence: 6 days per week (Saturday off), flexible hours

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Housekeeper to join their prestigious Mayfair residence. Working closely with the Head Housekeeper and House Manager, this is a key role within the household, ensuring that the property is maintained to the very highest standards at all times.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in UHNW private households or five-star hotels, with excellent knowledge of housekeeping, laundry care, and fine finishes. You will be hands-on, proactive, and team-oriented, confident leading others and supporting day-to-day operations across the residence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and presentation of the residence to an exceptional standard.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and floor care.
• Care for special finishes such as marble, silver, glass, china, and fine fabrics.
• Oversee laundry tasks, including linen and clothing care.
• Conduct spot checks and ensure exemplary housekeeping standards are consistently upheld.
• Monitor and manage laundry and pantry stock levels, ensuring timely replenishment.
• Check the condition of linens, towels, and service items, reporting replenishment needs in advance.
• Lead and support the housekeeping team, including temporary staff during busier periods.
• Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to the wider team.
• Assist with rota planning and scheduling alongside the Head Housekeeper.
• Take responsibility for inventory management and checks.
• Liaise with the Chef and House Manager, assisting with light service when required.
• Identify and report maintenance or repair issues promptly.
• Supervise contractors and third-party operatives when needed.
• Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper or House Manager.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a senior housekeeping position within a UHNW residence or luxury hotel.
• Excellent knowledge of housekeeping procedures, laundry care, and fine surface maintenance.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a small team.
• Impeccable attention to detail and a high level of professionalism.
• Flexible, discreet, and proactive, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Well-presented, trustworthy, and organised, with a calm and polished manner.
