Head of PE
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head of PE to lead and inspire a thriving department in a forward-thinking secondary school in London.
About the role
As Head of PE, you will:
Lead, manage, and inspire the PE department, including staff mentoring and performance management
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3–5
Develop a diverse and engaging curriculum that encourages participation and excellence
Organise extracurricular sports, competitions, and events to enhance student experience
Monitor student progress, support achievement, and promote a culture of high expectations

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Head of PE you will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven leadership experience within PE or a related role
- Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching PE across multiple key stages
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for inspiring students and promoting health, fitness, and wellbeing
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Suitable teaching experience
