Head of PE

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head of PE to lead and inspire a thriving department in a forward-thinking secondary school in London.

About the role

As Head of PE, you will:

• Lead, manage, and inspire the PE department, including staff mentoring and performance management

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3–5

• Develop a diverse and engaging curriculum that encourages participation and excellence

• Organise extracurricular sports, competitions, and events to enhance student experience

• Monitor student progress, support achievement, and promote a culture of high expectations

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Head of PE you will:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proven leadership experience within PE or a related role
• Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching PE across multiple key stages
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Passion for inspiring students and promoting health, fitness, and wellbeing

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Suitable teaching experience
