KPI Education is working in partnership with a successful and inclusive primary school in Southwark to appoint a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant for September 2026.
This position is ideal for ambitious graduates who want to experience life inside a classroom while making a positive contribution to children's learning and development.
You will work alongside dedicated teachers and support staff, gaining valuable exposure to effective teaching practices, classroom management and pupil support strategies.
The Role
As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential classroom support across the school, helping pupils engage with lessons and supporting teachers in creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
This role offers excellent preparation for graduates considering teacher training, education careers or roles focused on child development and pupil support.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the school team, you will:
- Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons.
- Support pupils through one-to-one and small group activities.
- Help children develop confidence in reading, writing and mathematics.
- Provide encouragement and guidance to pupils throughout lessons.
- Support children with SEND and individual learning requirements.
- Create and organise classroom resources.
- Promote positive behaviour and strong learning habits.
- Help maintain an inclusive environment where every pupil feels supported.
- Observe pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Candidate Requirements
The successful applicant will have:
- A minimum 2:1 bachelor's degree .
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their education.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach.
- The ability to remain patient and positive in a busy classroom environment.
- A willingness to learn from experienced educators.
- Previous experience working with children through tutoring, mentoring, volunteering or similar roles is desirable but not essential.
