The Role
The school is seeking an analytical and highly organised Data Manager to oversee the management, analysis, and reporting of student data across the school.
This is a pivotal role within the school, supporting senior leaders, teachers, and pastoral staff by ensuring that student information systems are accurate, efficient, and used effectively to inform decision-making.
The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the school’s data systems, including assessment data, attendance information, and reporting processes. They will work closely with the senior leadership team to provide detailed analysis that supports school improvement and student progress monitoring.
This role requires someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex data clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the school’s Management Information System (MIS) and ensuring all data is accurate and up to date
Coordinating the collection, analysis, and reporting of assessment data across the school
Producing reports for senior leadership to support strategic decision-making
Supporting teachers and pastoral staff with access to and interpretation of student data
Overseeing student progress tracking systems and ensuring accurate monitoring of achievement
Managing the school census and statutory data returns
Supporting the organisation and analysis of examination results and performance data
Ensuring data protection regulations are followed at all times
Training staff on the effective use of data systems and reporting tools
Developing efficient processes for data collection and analysis

Person Specification
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
Experience managing data systems or Management Information Systems (MIS)
Confidence using spreadsheets and data analysis tools
The ability to communicate complex information clearly to staff
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving systems
Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality procedures
The ability to work independently while also collaborating with colleagues
Previous experience working in a school environment is desirable but not essential. Candidates with strong data management experience from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
