Band 5 Theatres, Scrub Nurses & ODPs - 1-Year Fixed-Term Maternity Cover

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Band 5 Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) to join our Theatre teams at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals on a 1-year fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave .

Main duties of the job
Provide skilled and effective assistance to clinicians and other members of the theatre team, contributing to the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.

• Deliver support and care to the required professional and service standards, as directed by the clinical team.
• Provide support across relevant areas of the Trust where specialised equipment, procedures or techniques are required.
• Respond positively and effectively to planned and unplanned activities, including emergency situations, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism.
• Plan and organise work effectively in advance to ensure that operational requirements and deadlines are met.
• Maintain competency in two of the three designated theatre specialties and rotate between them to support service requirements, flexibility and staff development.

• RGN Level 1 / RODP
• Anesthetic Qualification
• Basic Life Support Course

Desirable

• Immediate Life Support Course

Knowledge and Skills
Essential

• Recent experience in Scrub
• Willingness to undertake post registration work in specialty
• Understanding of Clinical Governance

• Experience of Audit and Research

Communication

• Competent communication skills in English
• Ability to effectively deliver sensitive / complex information to a variety of listeners
