An Outstanding-rated SEMH secondary in Bexley is seeking a dedicated, emotionally intelligent Behaviour Mentor to join its expert therapeutic team. Every student here has faced significant barriers — from trauma and anxiety to persistent behavioural challenges — and your role will be vital in helping them reconnect with education. You’ll work in small class settings, guided by a leadership team renowned for their award-winning approach to behaviour, inclusion, and emotional development. This isn’t just about managing behaviour — it’s about changing lives, step by step, with consistency, care, and clarity. Key Highlights:
- Behaviour Mentor position in a top-tier SEMH school for 11–16 year olds
- Start ASAP – long-term, stable role through the academic year
- £100–£110 per day, depending on experience and training
- Work closely with pupils navigating trauma, anxiety, or social exclusion
- Access to CPD in trauma-informed practice, de-escalation, restorative strategies
- School praised by Ofsted for its “exceptional pastoral care and staff development”
- Pathways into Youth Justice, Educational Psychology, or SEND Teaching
- Offering 1:1 and small group mentoring for pupils with SEMH diagnoses
- Supporting pupils with daily routines, transitions, and emotional regulation
- Reinforcing behaviour plans and de-escalation protocols in and out of class
- Collaborating with in-house therapists, pastoral leads, and external agencies
- Acting as a consistent adult role model, building trust over time
- Supporting students to rebuild confidence, resilience, and academic engagement
- Confident, calm, and compassionate under pressure
- Experience in youth work, mental health, SEN, or similar field (formal or informal)
- Genuinely passionate about inclusion and long-term impact
- Strong communicator and team player
- Full-time availability from this term onwards
