Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO)
Location: Hackney, East London
Salary: £44,236 - £60,464 per annum (depending on experience)
Start Date: October 2025 (or January 2026)
Contract: Flexible - Full-time or Part-time available

An Outstanding Ofsted-rated, 2-form entry primary school in Hackney is seeking a qualified Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SENCO looking to work in a supportive, forward-thinking school environment.

About the role

  • Lead SEN provision across a vibrant, inclusive school community.

  • Flexible working pattern - full-time or part-time considered for the right candidate.

  • A balance of leadership responsibilities and some classroom teaching.

  • Collaborative SLT with a strong focus on professional development and staff wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of SEND across the school, ensuring statutory requirements are met.

  • Manage EHCPs, interventions, and provision mapping.

  • Support, advise, and coach teaching staff to deliver high-quality inclusive practice.

  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies.

  • Teach part-time within the school, maintaining a direct connection with classroom practice.

Candidate requirements

  • NASENCO qualification is essential.

  • Minimum of one year's experience as a SENCO in a mainstream school.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Passion for ensuring every child can achieve their potential in an inclusive environment.
