This ambitious Croydon secondary school is seeking a STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant for September 2025. With state-of-the-art facilities, excellent results and a passionate staff, it offers graduates the chance to inspire pupils in Maths, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science.
The role involves supporting KS3 and KS4 students, helping them build confidence and achieve academically, while gaining valuable classroom experience. Ideal candidates are motivated by more than academics, committed to making a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
As a STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teachers in delivering high-quality, engaging STEM lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Provide 1:1 and small group academic support to boost student progress
- Help pupils grow in confidence and engagement through tailored guidance and encouragement
- Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and practical resources in Science, Maths, or Computing
- Build positive relationships with pupils, inspiring them to see STEM as exciting, creative, and rewarding
Who We’re Looking For
To excel as a STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant, you should have:
- A 2:1 or higher in a STEM subject (Maths, Science, Engineering, Computing, or related discipline)
- Exceptional subject knowledge and a genuine love for STEM learning
- A strong desire to work with young people for the right reasons—to inspire, support, and make a difference
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach to classroom support
- An interest in progressing into teacher training or education as a long-term career
- Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
