Location: This is a multi site role covering the University of Greenwich 3 campuses - Avery Hill, Greenwich & Medway
Working Hours: 40 hrs pw
Salary: £50,000pa - £53,000pa + excellent bonus and benefits package

About the Role

We’re now looking for an exceptional Head of Residences to lead the strategic and operational management of the University of Greenwich student accommodation portfolio. You’ll champion customer experience, ensure compliance and operational excellence, and inspire a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across our residential services.

What you'll do

  • Lead the delivery of all FM and accommodation services across the University’s student residences, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience for residents.

  • Work closely with university partners to align Sodexo’s service delivery with the university’s values, vision, and sustainability goals.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for student accommodation management, ensuring best practice and compliance across all buildings.

  • Drive performance across all workstreams, ensuring KPI and SLA targets are achieved and exceeded.

  • Manage budgets and financial performance to deliver value for both Sodexo and the client.

  • Inspire, lead, and develop a multi-skilled team to create a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture.

  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including university departments, student services, and external partners.

  • Lead the planning and coordination of key student events such as arrivals weekends and open days, ensuring a welcoming and engaging experience.

  • Promote a culture of Zero Harm, compliance, and continuous improvement.

  • Champion social impact initiatives across Sodexo’s People, Planet, Places, and Partnerships pathways

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading residential or accommodation operations within a large-scale or university environment.

  • Experience of PFI contracts and their operation

  • Strong background in facilities management, estates, or hospitality services.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire diverse teams.

  • Demonstrated success in driving customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

  • Commercially astute with experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Comfortable operating in a complex, multi-site environment with varied priorities.

  • Knowledge of compliance, H&S regulations, and NEC4 contracts (or willingness to learn).

  • Passionate about delivering an outstanding student experience.
