Training and Competency Supervisor
We’re growing and want you to be a part of our journey.
We’re seeking a Training & Competency Supervisor to take ownership of the day-to-day implementation and enforcement of our FCA-aligned T&C regime. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the ground — observing, coaching, and guiding advisers through their development journey.
You’ll work closely with advisers, managers, and compliance teams to ensure our people meet and maintain competence standards, and that our T&C processes are embedded into everyday practice.
About Us
Born from KPMG, Deloitte and Premier Benefit Solutions, we are building a proposition that is unique and compelling to disrupt the incumbent advisers in this space, through quality of Wealth Advisers, service and proposition.
This builds on our heritage in complex planning including pensions, and has provided us with a strong foundation to excel in delivering clear, comprehensive and holistic advice to our clients.
As a national firm of Wealth Advisers, we believe that individuals deserve a better alternative to the current status quo. In doing so we will allow clients to make better informed decisions around their finances delivering financial confidence in meeting their future goals and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular supervision meetings, observations, and file reviews to assess adviser competence.
- Deliver tailored training sessions and workshops to address specific development needs.
- Monitor progress against individual T&C plans and escalate concerns where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of adviser competence, CPD, and supervision activity.
- Support onboarding and induction of new advisers, ensuring they understand T&C expectations.
- Collaborate with Compliance to ensure regulatory changes are reflected in training and supervision.
- Provide practical support to advisers preparing for exams or assessments.
- Report on T&C outcomes and risks to senior stakeholders.
Where is the role?
We operate on a hybrid basis, offering you the opportunity to work both in the office and from home. The expectation would be 2 -3 days per week in the office. As a result the candidate can be located nationally although the preference would be to be located in the South East, in London, Reading or our Croydon office.
As a business we believe in building strong communities amongst our employees – both across locations and teams, hosting regular team building, charity, and social events.
Experience and Competencies Required
- Proven experience in a hands-on T&C role within a financial advice or wealth management firm.
- Strong understanding of FCA T&C requirements, especially in a retail advice setting.
- Confident communicator with the ability to coach, challenge, and support advisers.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Experience with pensions advice is desirable.
Education and Qualifications
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent) required; Chartered status a plus.
