We are seeking a proactive MEP Design Manager with strong HVAC design and delivery experience to support one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, working on the fit-out of shafts and headhouses across the London Tunnels section of HS2. This role would suit someone who can take ownership of MEP design responsibilities, work collaboratively across the supply chain, and see complex HVAC packages through to successful completion on a nationally significant infrastructure programme. Reporting to the Lead MEP Design Manager, you will take ownership of MEP design packages from detailed design through to completion, managing supply chain designers, driving approvals and certification, resolving technical issues, and ensuring design compliance throughout delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead the management and delivery of Stage 5 MEP design packages, ensuring quality, compliance and timely submission of design deliverables. Manage HVAC design suppliers and coordinate interfaces between designers, contractors and project stakeholders. Drive design reviews, approvals, assurance and certification processes through to final sign-off. Identify and resolve technical issues, scope gaps, design clashes and interface risks. Ensure designs are fully compliant with project, engineering, quality and CDM requirements. Monitor design progress, manage risks and communicate key issues to delivery and commercial teams. Support the management of Stage 4 design queries, defects and design changes. Work closely with MEP Package Managers, engineers, construction teams and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery. Requirements Degree or professional qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Proven experience managing Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEPH) design packages, ideally with a strong HVAC focus. Experience delivering detailed MEP design within major infrastructure, rail, tunnelling or complex construction projects. Experience working within large-scale, self-assured design environments. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and design risk management. Familiarity with design management processes, technical assurance and compliance requirements. Competent in AutoCAD, Navisworks, ProjectWise and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of NEC contracts. Experience with specialist MEP design software such as Trimble Amtech. CSCS White or Black Card (or ability to obtain one).
