Senior Project Manager

Funding Circle UK
London
Description

Senior Project Manager

We are looking for a commercially-minded and detail-oriented Senior Project Manager to join our FlexiPay & Cards team. While your primary focus will be on our FlexiPay and Credit Card products, you will work with teams across the business to achieve key strategic delivery and change objectives and develop the risk and controls framework within our function.

This is a key role where you will have the autonomy to lead projects, challenge the status quo and enhance current processes in order to directly shape and scale FlexiPay and Credit Cards into core products for Funding Circle, products that thousands of small and medium businesses rely on a daily basis to bridge their short term capital requirements .

Who are we?

We're Funding Circle. We back small businesses to succeed.

At Funding Circle, we believe the world needs small businesses. That's why we've made it our mission to help them get the finance they need to grow.

With more than a decade of expertise under our belt, we've built a game-changer of a platform with cutting-edge data and technology that's reshaping the landscape of SME lending. Say goodbye to lengthy applications and hello to lightning-fast decisions! In just minutes, SMEs across the UK can get a decision, giving them access to competitive funding in a flash.

We know that good business is about good people. So we pride ourselves on providing meaningful, human support as well as fast, hassle free processes to deliver an unbeatable customer experience.

The role
  • Drive projects from conception through to execution: Advocating for our external customers as well as our internal customer-facing teams, you will be expected to both lead on and provide support with discrete projects and initiatives designed to evolve our FlexiPay and Credit Card products.
  • Champion best-in-class project governance and risk management: Demonstrating your experience of best practice project management and governance, you will build and maintain project plans, proactively manage and mitigate risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID management), and regularly report on project status to key stakeholders.
  • Identify and action opportunities for process improvement: Working alongside the Head of Strategic Programs and multiple Product Managers, you will enhance our controls environment through a combination of influencing product roadmaps, ensuring adherence to existing controls and identifying opportunities for more robust processes and control frameworks.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to support our first line operational teams: You will build a robust knowledge of our FlexiPay and Cashback Credit Card products, serving as the go-to point of contact for front line operational teams in order to assist with product-specific queries and troubleshoot both ad hoc and systemic operational pain points and requests.
What we're looking for
  • Project Management Experience: 5+ years in a project manager or senior project manager role. You are able to see a project through from conception to execution and take pride in the quality of your deliverables.
  • Industry Background: Previous experience in the financial services or fintech industry, especially in areas like retail lending or the credit card industry, is a strong plus.
  • Proactive Ownership: You enjoy taking on new challenges and leap at the chance to untangle complex scenarios and unexpected obstacles.
  • Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for detail and understand the importance of accurately communicating with customers in a regulated landscape.
  • Influential Communication: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. You have experience of holding peers and more senior stakeholders to account in order to ensure compliance to risk and governance frameworks.
  • Energised by Ambiguity: You are comfortable with ambiguity and eager to shape your role alongside our evolving product suite and programme management function.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Champion the use of data to drive both product delivery and successful customer outcomes.
At Funding Circle we are committed to building diverse teams so please apply even if your past experience doesn't align perfectly with the requirements.

As a flexible-first employer we offer hybrid working at Funding Circle, and we've long believed in a 'best of both' approach to in-office collaboration and non-office days. We expect our teams to be in our London office three times a week, where you can take advantage of our newly refurbished hybrid working space, barista made coffee and subsidised lunches (via JustEat) every day!

We back our Circlers to build their own incredible career, making a difference to small businesses every day. Our Circler proposition is designed to support employees both in and out of work, and it is anchored around four pillars: Health, Wealth, Development & Lifestyle.

  • Wealth: Life Assurance, Income Protection, Critical Illness Cover, financial coaching through Octopus Money Coach, a tax-advantaged share scheme, a free mortgage advisor partnership and discounts across numerous retailers through Perks at Work.
  • Development: Dedicated annual Learning & Development allowance and full access to internal learning platform.
  • Lifestyle: Electric Car Scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, Season Ticket Loans, and more!
And finally, we have award winning parental leave policies supporting parents through enhanced maternity, partner and adoption leave, as well as additional leave for parental bereavement and for fertility treatments.

Ready to make a difference? We'd love to hear from you.
