Job Title: Test Technician – Manufacturing

Role: FTC (12 months)

Location: Glasgow

Hours: 4 day week Monday-Thursday / 37 hours per week

We’re looking for a number of Test Technicians to join our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) team. Our Test Technicians carry out in depth testing and fault diagnoses of mechanical assemblies.

The roles are based out of our Glasgow manufacturing site. You will work a 4 day week Monday to Thursday and work 9.25 hours per day. Start time is flexible between 6:00am and 7:30am and you get 30 minutes unpaid for lunch. There is also free on-site parking and an on-site canteen

What you’ll do…

  • Ensure all incidents are logged correctly and escalated to H&S leaders as appropriate

  • Escalating Health and safety issues to the Work Cell Manager

  • Perform complex Manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation provided to the quality standards expected in a timely and professional manner

  • Test, diagnose and repair various electronic systems and sub-assemblies to component level

  • Adhere to the defined Company processes when carrying out all tasks

  • Perform self-assessment and approval of products

  • Input and support any continuous improvement actions being worked on within Industry

  • Able to detect any fault or non-compliance and if necessary raise the alert. In addition when able should contribute to diagnostics and the finding of the cause/root analysis

  • Manage and record build configuration of product

  • Use the company tools (ERP, Palma etc.) when carrying out product assembly tasks

What you’ll need…

  • Experience working in a production test department

  • An electrical/electronic qualification would be advantageous

  • Able to interpret circuit diagrams and identify faults to component level

  • Ability to Identify and carry out actions required with minimal supervision

  • PC literate in the use of Microsoft Office Tool set

  • Able to secure SC clearance with no restrictions
