Assistant Company Secretary

A great opportunity for an experienced governance professional to join a high-performing Company Secretariat within a regulated financial services environment.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders, support Board and Committee governance, and help drive continuous improvement across the organisation. The RoleManage Board & Committee cycles: agendas, packs, scheduling, annual plans
Draft clear, high-quality minutes and written resolutions
Maintain governance registers, statutory books and company filings
Support governance projects, policy reviews, evaluations & training
Assist with regulatory and audit-related governance requests
Ensure compliance with UK company law, Solvency II and PRA/FCA/Lloyd’s standards
Graduate/Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI) (Diploma completed or near completion)
3+ years’ experience in a regulated environment (insurance/FS ideal)
Strong knowledge of UK company law and governance frameworks
Experienced in minute-taking and drafting governance papers
Organised, proactive, discreet and confident working with senior stakeholders
Proficient with Board portals (e.g., Diligent) and Microsoft 365
Exposure to senior executives, Boards & Committees
A broad, hands-on governance role with real impact
