Key Responsibilities
As a Primary Teacher in this Leyton school, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum
Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning for all pupils
Differentiating teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of pupils, including SEN, EAL, and high-achieving learners
Using formative and summative assessment to monitor pupil progress and inform planning
Setting high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement in the classroom
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff, and senior leaders to ensure continuity of learning
Contributing to pupil progress meetings, interventions, and whole-school initiatives
Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and achievement
Maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with school policy
Participating actively in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide projects
Upholding safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring the welfare and safety of all pupils
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who demonstrates the following qualities:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)
Excellent classroom management skills with a consistent and positive approach to behaviour
Commitment to inclusion and high-quality teaching for all pupils
Ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, including SEN and EAL pupils
Strong organisational, planning, and time-management skills
Collaborative, professional, and proactive attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Reflective and committed to continual professional development
Teachers with experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs will be particularly valued, though this is not essential.
