About NTT DATA and Tangity: NTT DATA is a trusted global innovator with over 100,000 professionals in 50+ countries. Headquartered in Tokyo, we bring elements of our Japanese heritage—precision, long-term thinking, and social responsibility—into our UK work. In the UK, we work across telecoms, financial services, manufacturing, and the public sector, delivering end-to-end services from strategy to implementation. Tangity, part of the NTT DATA Design Network, is a global design studio dedicated to humanising complexity. We combine Strategy, Technology, and Design to create meaningful, inclusive, and impactful services that improve lives and systems. Our studios work closely with delivery teams to embed design deeply into every project and across every touchpoint. What you'll be doing: The Role: We are looking for a Lead Product Designer with deep e-commerce experience and a strong product mindset. This role sits at the heart of cross-functional squads, working closely with Product Owners, Product Managers and Engineers to continuously optimise and evolve digital commerce experiences. This is not about big redesigns that sit in a deck. It is about iterative delivery, experimentation and shipping value week by week. You will combine strong hands-on craft with leadership, guiding design direction while staying close to the work. As a new role within the team, you will also play an important part in shaping and strengthening Tangity’s e-commerce design capability. Alongside project delivery, you will help define our approach to commerce experience design, establishing best practices, reusable frameworks and clear standards for how we design, test and optimise digital commerce journeys. This includes helping articulate our point of view for clients, contributing to go-to-market propositions, and embedding consistent design principles across the design team. In the early phase of the role, there will be a focus on building these foundations while supporting client engagements. Over time, the role will evolve into a key voice for commerce design within the studio, helping ensure our work delivers both meaningful user experiences and measurable commercial impact. What You’ll Do: Lead the design of end-to-end e-commerce journeys across web and mobile Shape product direction in partnership with Product Managers and business stakeholders Translate commercial goals into intuitive, high-performing experiences Use research, insight and analytics to inform design decisions Prototype and test ideas quickly to validate assumptions Contribute to and evolve design systems for scalability and consistency Support and mentor other designers within the team Facilitate workshops and alignment sessions with clients and internal teams Responsibilities: Own the quality and coherence of the customer experience across your product area Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape and prioritise the roadmap Design and deliver features that drive measurable improvements in conversion, engagement and retention Lead and contribute to A B testing and optimisation initiatives Present work confidently, clearly explaining rationale and trade-offs Ensure accessibility and inclusive design principles are embedded in all outputs Balance user needs, business goals and technical constraints in decision making Expected Behaviours: Collaborative and team first, comfortable working closely with engineers and product peers Outcome driven, with a clear understanding of commercial impact Curious and open minded, always looking to learn and improve Calm and pragmatic when navigating ambiguity or competing priorities Clear and thoughtful communicator who can simplify complexity Proactive and accountable, taking ownership rather than waiting for direction Supportive mentor who raises the bar for craft and thinking across the team What experience you'll bring: 8+ years experience in product design, with strong experience in e-commerce Proven experience working within agile, cross-functional squads Strong partnership with Product Owners and Product Managers on backlog shaping and prioritisation A track record of delivering measurable product improvements Excellent UX and interaction design fundamentals Strong visual design skills and attention to detail Confident prototyping skills using tools such as Figma Experience using data and customer insight to inform decisions Solid understanding of core e-commerce journeys including search, browse, product detail and checkout Experience contributing to or leading design systems Nice to Have: Experience working within consultancy or multi-client environments Exposure to international or multi-market e-commerce platforms Experience with service design or end-to-end customer journey mapping Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and growth methodologies Experience working within large enterprise or transformation programmes Previous experience mentoring or leading other designers Who we are: At NTT DATA, you have endless opportunities to think big, act bold and take ownership.
