Technical Sales Engineer
Salary: £40,000–£55,000 depending on experience Fujikura Europe Ltd is looking for a technically minded and commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer to support the continued growth of our electronics business across the UK and Europe. This is an opportunity to combine technical sales, application-led business development and customer relationship management across a diverse portfolio of electronic components and engineered solutions. Working with Original Equipment Manufacturers, distributors, design engineers and purchasing teams, you will identify new business opportunities, develop existing customer relationships and support technical design-in activity from initial enquiry through to production. The role You will promote a portfolio including: * Micro coaxial cables and cable assemblies * RF and coaxial connectors * Thermal management solutions, including heat sinks, heat pipes, vapour chambers and cold plates * Membrane switches, sensors, wire harnesses and other electronic component solutions You will work across a range of engineering-led markets, including automotive electronics, data centres and associated supply chains, industrial automation, robotics, medical devices, telecommunications, surveillance and camera systems, drones and other specialist electronics applications. Key responsibilities You will: * Identify and develop new sales opportunities across electronic components, RF connectivity, cable assemblies and thermal management solutions. * Build strong, long-term relationships with OEMs, distributors, EMS companies, design engineers, purchasing teams and other key decision-makers. * Understand customers' technical and commercial requirements and work with Fujikura engineering and manufacturing teams to develop appropriate solutions. * Support design-in opportunities from initial enquiry through quotation, sampling, technical review and negotiation to production launch. * Manage and develop existing customer accounts while proactively identifying new business. * Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, forecasts and opportunity updates. * Maintain accurate pipeline and opportunity information using Salesforce CRM. * Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to identify future opportunities. * Attend customer meetings, exhibitions, supplier meetings and internal business reviews across the UK and Europe. * Work closely with colleagues in Japan and other Fujikura group companies to coordinate technical information, pricing, samples, lead times and project support. About you We are looking for someone with experience in technical sales, field sales, application engineering or business development within electronic components or a related engineered-product environment. You might already have experience in connectors, RF/coaxial products, cable assemblies, thermal management or electronic components, or you may come from an adjacent technical market with the ability and curiosity to learn a new product portfolio. You will ideally bring: * Experience of selling or supporting technically complex products and solutions. * An understanding of technical sales cycles and design-in activity, from initial customer requirement through sampling, quotation and production. * Confidence discussing technical requirements with engineers and translating them into clear commercial and internal actions. * Strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of pricing, margin, lead times and long-term business potential. * A proactive approach to new business development alongside the ability to build lasting customer relationships. * Strong communication, organisation and follow-up skills. * The ability to manage opportunities independently while collaborating effectively with sales, engineering, operations and international colleagues. * Experience using Salesforce CRM for pipeline management and opportunity tracking would be an advantage. * Willingness to travel for customer visits, exhibitions and supplier meetings across the UK and Europe. Essential Experience * Strong transferable experience within electronic components or related engineered-product markets. Desirable Experience * Previous experience of connectors, micro coaxial cables, high-speed signal transmission, Electronics Manufacturing Companies, cable assemblies or thermal management solutions. * Experience of working with Japanese manufacturers or international engineering teams.
