Salaried GP - Short term

Job summary
Our GP clinical sessions are 4 hours and 10 minutes in duration. Clinics consist of a mixture of face-to-face and telephone appointments.

Administration time is built into each session to support completion of blood results, repeat prescriptions, correspondence and other clinical duties.

Main duties of the job

• Undertaking face-to-face, telephone and online consultations
• Managing acute and chronic disease presentations
• Home visits where clinically appropriate or required
• Reviewing pathology and correspondence
• Prescribing in accordance with local and national guidance
• Supporting QOF, enhanced services and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
• Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team
• Supporting safeguarding, clinical governance and patient safety processes
• READCODING

Squires Lane Medical Practice is a GP practice based in East Finchley, caring for approximately 5,000 patients.

Our clinical team consists of 2 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacists, Paramedics and a highly supportive administrative and reception team. We work collaboratively and pride ourselves on maintaining a friendly, approachable and inclusive culture where all staff are valued and supported.

The practice is part of PCN 3 and works closely with neighbouring practices and multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for our local population.

Job responsibilities
Squires Lane Medical Pracitce is seeking locum maternity cover to for a minimum fixed-term period of six months, commencing on 4th September2026.

• 8 sessions per week / fixed term contract
• Daily clinical meeting to provide support/answer queries
• Salary dependent on experience

Qualifications
Essential

• Qualified General Practitioner
• Full GMC registration with licence to practice
• Included on the NHS England Performers List
• Evidence of continued professional development and revalidation compliance
• MRCGP qualification or equivalent

Desirable

• Experience using EMIS Web
• Experience with digital triage and online consultation systems such as AccuRx
• Experience supporting QOF, enhanced services or population health initiatives
