About the School:

A well-established school in Hampstead is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the effective management of its buildings, grounds, maintenance, and wider facilities services.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school environment remains safe, secure, compliant, and well maintained, while coordinating a range of internal and external services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s facilities.

• Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes.

• Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and external service providers.

• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and facilities.

• Monitor health and safety and statutory compliance requirements.

• Oversee cleaning, waste management, and general site presentation.

• Manage access, security, keys, alarms, and site procedures.

• Maintain accurate facilities, compliance, maintenance, and contractor records.

• Coordinate repairs and ensure outstanding works are followed up.

• Assist with emergency planning and the preparation of facilities for school events.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in facilities, estates, premises, property, or site management.

• Strong knowledge of building maintenance and facilities operations.

• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

• Experience managing contractors and external suppliers.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and respond appropriately to urgent issues.

• Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.

• Previous experience within education, public sector, or a similarly regulated environment would be advantageous.
