Lecturer SEND 0.6 FTE
The Role:
New City College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in SEND to join our inclusive learning team. This role involves teaching and assessing learners aged 16-24 and adults across a range of entry-level to Level 2 programmes, including RARPA-based courses. You will play a key role in supporting students with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences tailored to SEND learners.
- Prepare and assess learning materials and outcomes in line with curriculum requirements.
- Act as a personal tutor or course coordinator for designated student groups.
- Support learners academically and pastorally, responding to diverse needs with sensitivity.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and participate in student monitoring and progression.
- Liaise with employers and external agencies regarding placements and career opportunities.
- Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
Who You Are:
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Recent experience teaching discrete LDD (Learners with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities) provision.
- Ability to teach effectively and prepare materials for a wide range of SEND learners.
- Commitment to inclusive education and understanding of diverse learner needs.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Awareness of safeguarding and equality practices with practical implementation ideas.
