People Services Coordinator - 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

The Bread Factory
London

About us:

The Bread Factory is the UK's leading artisan bakery. Founded by Gail Meija in 1993, The Bread Factory, originally known as Gail Force, began by supplying some of London's most prestigious restaurants, including many with Michelin stars. More than three decades later, we continue to work closely with the best chefs, alongside grocers, foodservice partners and our own neighbourhood bakery, GAIL's.

The Bread Factory is synonymous with quality. We have been awarded more than 100 Great Taste Awards and have held a Royal Warrant since 2016, when it was first granted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In 2024, the warrant was renewed by His Majesty The King.

We source our ingredients thoughtfully, partnering with farmers and millers who align with our values. The result: delicious, carefully made baked goods that support a more sustainable and nutritious food system; bringing great bread to more tables every day.

The People Services Coordinator plays a key role in delivering an exceptional employee and manager experience across GAIL's and The Bread Factory.

As part of the People Services team, the role is responsible for providing high-quality operational support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring people processes, systems and data are managed accurately, efficiently and consistently.

Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing:

  • Supporting the employee journey from joining us through to leaving us, including onboarding, probation, changes and leavers.
  • Preparing contracts, letters and other employee documents accurately and on time.
  • Responding to colleague and manager questions through Zendesk and other channels.
  • Providing a friendly, helpful and solution-focused service, resolving queries wherever possible at the first point of contact.
  • Keeping employee records and People systems accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting reporting, system administration and improvements to our People processes.
  • Helping to test and introduce new system functionality and better ways of working.
  • Creating and keeping People Services guides, templates and processes up to date.
  • Spotting opportunities to make things simpler, quicker and better.
  • Working with the wider People Team on projects and continuous improvement.
  • Sharing knowledge, supporting your teammates and helping during busy periods.

Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you have:

  • Experience in HR, People Services, Shared Services or a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent organisation skills and a great eye for detail.
  • A strong customer service mindset and genuinely enjoy helping people.
  • Experience using HR or People systems.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage different priorities in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • A can-do, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to take ownership.
  • A curious mindset and an interest in finding better ways of doing things.
  • Experience working in a multi-site business.
  • Experience using Fourth or a similar HR system.
  • Experience supporting process improvement projects.
