The Opportunity
As a People Data Analyst at Goldsmiths, University of London, you will play a key role in supporting the People & Organisational Development (POD) department through the provision of high-quality data insights and reporting. You ll be responsible for maintaining and analysing workforce data, developing dashboards, and contributing to the improvement of HR systems and processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work collaboratively across HR, Payroll, IT, and other university departments to ensure data integrity and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, validate, and maintain accurate HR data from multiple sources including EDI, Workforce, HESA, and Recruitment.
- Clean and standardise data in collaboration with HR Operations to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Generate regular reports on HR metrics such as turnover, diversity, and recruitment effectiveness.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and create custom reports for senior stakeholders.
- Develop dashboards and visualisations using tools like Power BI.
- Support system upgrades and enhancements, including testing and documentation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation of HR workflows.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations.
- Train POD staff and managers on system usage and data interpretation.
- Actively engage in professional development and stay informed on data analytics trends.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
About You and What You Will Bring to the Role
- Educated to A-level standard with GCSE A -C in Mathematics (degree in a quantitative field desirable).
- Experience maintaining and analysing large datasets and combining data from multiple sources.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis platforms (Power BI, SQL desirable).
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Good written communication and organisational skills.
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection legislation.
- Experience working with HR data (preferably in a higher education context).
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, with experience supporting diverse communities.
Your work in this role will directly support Goldsmiths strategic goals and help shape how people data is used to enhance the experience of staff and students across the university.
