Senior LNG Analyst (Permanent)
• Work as part of a team to build, develop and maintain a world class fundamental supply/demand model for the global LNG market.
• Distribute analysis and views in a timely, structured and pro-active manner.
• Perform market analysis on a reactive basis in reaction to requests from the trading desks, in particular with regards to the development of new products/markets and trading strategies.
• Own and drive the development of LNG market analysis work, ensuring analysis is focused on delivering practical business benefits, and that resources are being allocated to the correct priorities.
• Work to integrate analysis into the trader's decision-making process, creating a systematic framework for monetising analysis via profitable trading strategies.
• Devise effective methods of visually displaying the opportunities and risks available in the market.
• Collaboratively and proactively work with the other parts of the global business and external contacts to broaden knowledge and enhance analysis quality and use.
• Utilise technology to increase the efficiency and automation of LNG market analysis including capturing and interpreting data and producing reports/tools for traders. What we're looking for / Skills that will help you in the role
• Significant experience providing successful LNG market analysis for a trading desk in an energy market trading environment; utilities, producers or trading houses preferred.
• Deep knowledge of the physical and financial LNG markets, also knowledge of the gas and power markets, regulatory issues, and demand.
• Previous work experience in small, high-performance teams a distinct advantage.
• Very strong numerical and analytical skills
• Strategic thinking and practical problem solver.
• A positive attitude, highly self-motivating and able to manage stress are key characteristics for this role.
• Flexibility, innovation, decisiveness, planning and control.
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, standard software and software dedicated to the trading activities.
• Knowledge of stochastic modelling techniques such as sensitivity analysis or Monte Carlo simulation.
• Programming skills (e.g., SQL, Python etc.) and experience of utilising large data sets.
• Demonstrable ability to learn new skills and adapt to market developments. Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position with the job based in Charring Cross, London.
