Compliance Manager
Key Responsibilities
Delegated Authority & Insurer Management
- Own the delegated underwriting agreements and jointly manage delegated claims handling agreements in collaboration with senior claims colleagues.
- Liaise with insurer partners regarding negotiation, renewal, and oversight of delegated authority arrangements.
Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance Advisory
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and compliance developments relevant to the organisation.
- Provide timely updates, commentary, and impact assessments to senior compliance leadership.
- Investigate compliance risks or issues and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Deliver accurate and practical compliance advice and guidance to business stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of new regulatory initiatives across the organisation.
- Deliver compliance-related education and training to operational teams.
Policies, Procedures & Documentation
- Maintain and update procedure manuals and policies to ensure alignment with current regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Assist with assessing the effectiveness of internal processes, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance is properly evidenced.
Audit, Monitoring & Governance
- Design and maintain an audit and monitoring framework suitable for the business.
- Conduct monitoring reviews, identify gaps, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Act as the main point of contact for external audits or reviews, track remedial actions, and report progress.
Operational Compliance & Support
- Respond to ad hoc compliance queries, working closely with operational managers to support compliant business delivery.
- Provide support with product governance, including advice on product design, structure, and documentation.
- Assist with complaints handling, ensuring lessons learned are identified, actioned, and reported.
- Maintain strong working relationships with operational teams to embed compliance best practices.
- Liaise with insurers on compliance matters and ensure required changes are implemented in line with business protocols.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in compliance roles within financial services, insurance, or a similar regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, delegated authority arrangements, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing audits, monitoring activities, and insurer or partner relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem?solving skills with the ability to identify risks and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear and practical compliance guidance.
- Highly organised, detail?oriented, and proactive in supporting continuous improvement.
- Ability to build strong relationships across teams and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
