Longevity IFM Actuarial Analyst (Hybrid; 80-100% working degree)
Are you a curious and analytical thinker still early on in your actuarial career who is keen to apply your skills in a global business environment?
Join us as a Longevity Inforce Management Actuarial Analyst to gain hands-on experience supporting a fast-growing area of reinsurance, helping manage the financial risks associated with people living longer than expected.
In this role, you’ll work on Swiss Re’s global portfolio of longevity reinsurance, where we help pension schemes and life insurers transfer the risk of individuals outliving their life expectancy. This is a strategically important and evolving area, offering you exposure to real-world actuarial challenges, collaboration across teams, and the chance to make an early impact in your career.
About the Role
As part of the Longevity In Force Management (LIFM) team, you’ll report to the Actuarial Lead of the LIFM team and support the day-to-day running and long-term success of Swiss Re’s existing longevity business. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Swiss Re and develop a deep understanding of how reinsurance treaties perform over time.
In this role you will:
- Process and validate data received from clients including claims, premiums and settlement amounts
- Calculate the required collateral to be held for each reinsurance treaty
- Monitor treaty performance to assess profitability and ensure assumptions remain appropriate
- Carry out experience studies and impact analysis to support decision-making
- Collaborate with teams across Swiss Re as well as external cedants to help manage the day-to-day longevity operations
- Use the knowledge and expertise you develop in this role to support regional teams around the world
- Contribute to process improvements and development of automated tools so the team can scale effectively as the business continues to grow
