Core Hours: Term Time Monday to Friday 6:30am – 9am then afterschool roughly 3:45pm - 8pm. Slight flexibility to core hours occasionally, as and when required. Most Saturday mornings. Plus extra variable hours over school holidays, when family not away.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and experienced governess or teacher with SEN experience (preferably gained in an educational setting) to work with and nurture our delightful, friendly, playful, and engaging 6year-old daughter who has been diagnosed with autism and unspecified learning difficulties. We will also consider applicants with personal experience with ASD children. Our daughter requires an emotionally intelligent governess to help develop her language, speech, academic, social and some behavioural skills. Our daughter is a sole child.

The ideal candidate will also:
- be organised, structured, and possess a patient, encouraging, and fun nature.
- have an understanding of how to interact with and provide discipline for children with autism.
- be proficient in conducting a specialised curriculum, with monitoring and providing updates on milestones etc

About our Daughter:
- Lovely nature and highly empathetic.
- Toilet trained but has the odd occasional accident, in exceptional circumstances.
- Semi-verbal but can communicate basic requests in a few words to simple sentences.
- Loves reading, music and singalongs
- She likes forest walks and climbing.

Morning Responsibilities:
- Preparing her uniform and her schoolbag
- Facilitating her short morning workout routine with her
- Encouraging her to wash her hands & face, and dress herself
- Encouraging our daughter to eat by herself
- Giving vitamins
- Encourage her to brush teeth by herself well
- Once our daughter has left for school, you would be responsible for general tidying her room and bathroom. (We have a separate full time cleaner who will clean)
- keeping ready supplements ready for the evening
- Preparing activities for after school
- Occasionally, prepare a meal for our daughter

Afterschool responsibilities:
- Sometimes picking our daughter up from school
- You will use the after school period to teach both life and academic skills
- Encourage her to cut her food and eat without help.
- Helping her with bath time and encouraging her to get dressed without help.

Other responsibilities include writing weekly reports, checking her school app, ensuring she has spare clothes at school, and helping mum prepare for holidays eg packing the child's bag. Being able to cook vegan, gluten-free food would be advantageous but not necessary. Driving is not essential, but could be beneficial. We are based in Northwood, HA6, and you would not be required to drive in central London. Sole responsibility of 1 child - has no siblings. Cooking/cleaning for the family is not required.

We would like someone to commit to at least a minimum term of two years. We are happy to accept live-in and live-out applications. However, the role requires apx 6:30am start.

You must speak English fluently and have teaching and/or experience with children with ASD.
We are keen to see our daughter progress and want someone to go on this journey with us.
A competitive remuneration package will be provided based on experience and ability.

ACCOMODATION, IF REQUIRED:
A newly built, adjacent one-bedroom apartment (separate private entrance) will be provided, including all bills and TV. The apartment encompasses approximately 500 sqft and features a separate living area and kitchen, private bathroom, and bedroom.
