Performance Media Manager (Interim Contract)
Location: West London (2 days per week onsite, 3 days remote)
Rate: £300 - £375 per day (via umbrella)
Contract Length: 5 Months

Interim Opportunity: Performance Media Manager
We are seeking an experienced Performance Media Manager to join a leading consumer-focused organisation on a 5-month contract . This role is ideal for a hands-on digital media professional who can quickly assess, optimise and scale performance marketing activity while implementing robust audience, attribution and measurement frameworks.
Working within a fast-paced marketing function, you will drive media effectiveness across the full customer journey, leveraging first-party data, advanced targeting techniques and data-led insights to maximise return on media investment.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Funnel Media Planning & Optimisation
- Plan, execute and optimise integrated media campaigns across digital channels.
- Manage performance activity across social, programmatic, video and retail media platforms.
- Develop audience-first media strategies that drive measurable commercial outcomes.
- Continuously test, learn and optimise campaigns to improve efficiency and performance.
Audience Strategy & Data Management
- Build and activate audience segments using first, second and third-party data sources.
- Work closely with CRM, analytics and marketing teams to improve audience targeting.
- Ensure all audience activation complies with GDPR and data governance requirements.
Attribution & Performance Measurement
- Establish and enhance multi-touch attribution methodologies.
- Develop measurement frameworks that demonstrate the true impact of marketing activity.
- Design and implement test-and-control programmes to validate campaign effectiveness.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on campaign and customer journey analysis.
Tracking & Analytics
- Manage and optimise tracking infrastructure including:
- Pixels and tags
- Conversion APIs
- Server-side tracking
- UTM frameworks
- Ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity across channels.
Reporting & Insights
- Produce weekly and monthly performance reports and dashboards.
- Translate complex performance data into clear business recommendations.
- Present insights and optimisation opportunities to key stakeholders.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a Performance Media Manager, Paid Media Manager or Digital Media Manager role.
- Strong background in media planning and execution across major social and programmatic platforms.
- Experience with audience segmentation, customer data strategies and attribution modelling.
- Knowledge of tracking technologies including pixels, APIs and analytics platforms.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to influence commercial decisions through data.
- Experience managing KPIs such as ROAS, CPA, conversion rate and media efficiency metrics.
Desirable
- Experience within FMCG, consumer brands or retail environments.
- Exposure to first-party data activation and customer data platforms.
- Understanding of retail media and omnichannel measurement.
