• Annual Salary: GBP70,000 – GBP100,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance

An established and growing distribution business is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead operational performance across a multi–site network in the South East. This senior leadership role involves overseeing warehousing, transport, inventory, customer service, and continuous improvement, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will play a crucial role in shaping operational strategy while ensuring day–to–day excellence across the business.

Day–to–day of the role:

• Lead operational performance across warehousing, distribution, and supply chain functions.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business growth plans.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across productivity, service, and cost control.
• Build, mentor, and develop operational leadership teams.
• Manage budgets, KPIs, and operational reporting.
• Champion health & safety, compliance, and best practice.
• Work closely with commercial and senior leadership teams to support profitable growth.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in an Operations Director, Head of Operations, General Manager, or Regional Operations leadership role.
• Strong background within distribution, building materials, merchanting, logistics, or supply chain environments.
• Experience leading large teams across multiple departments or locations.
• Commercially aware with strong financial and operational management skills.
• Track record of improving operational performance and developing high–performing teams.
• Confident operating at both strategic and hands–on levels.
