Are you passionate with a commitment to providing a high-quality dining experience?  The Mute Swan is seeking an experienced and talented  Head Chef to join our culinary team.  As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development, kitchen management, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. We are seeking an individual who shares our love for food, embraces creativity, and has exceptional culinary skills. 

The Mute Swan can be found right opposite the gates of Hampton Court Palace, a wonderfully characterful pub, the building which itself dates back hundreds of years.

Downstairs at the Mute Swan is more pubby/wine bar in style, focussed on the bar and so this area is suitable for adults only, while upstairs has a more food-led restaurant ambience where children are welcome. The menu is available throughout so people can choose which style suits them best.

Outside, right opposite the gates to Hampton Court Palace, we have a terrace for al fresco drinking and dining, which is a draw on sunny days and a fine place for a spot of lunch or just some people watching over coffee.

About you...

Our kitchens are dynamic, fast paced, and high volume so you will have experience of being a head chef, chef manager, kitchen manager or senior sous chef in a busy, premium fresh food environment. You will be responsible for the food culture within your pub, working closely with the pub manager to drive the business forward, helping to formulate seasonal menus with our Executive Chefs. We are looking for a confident leader who will nurture their team and create an inclusive and supportive environment. You’ll also need excellent business acumen to manage a well-run kitchen, keeping on top of your stock, GPs and labour controls.
