We are working with a school in Barnet recruiting for an English Teacher. This prestigious independent school prioritises classical literature, rhetoric, and critical theory, with the English department serving as its academic hub.
The Role You will teach English Literature and Language at KS3 and KS4, alongside A-Level seminars. The role involves delivering a bespoke, literature-rich curriculum that encourages critical debate and sophisticated analytical writing. Key responsibilities include:
Teaching classical and contemporary literature lessons
Leading small-group "university-style" seminars for Year 13
Developing student skills in oral rhetoric and formal writing
Overseeing extracurricular societies like Debating or the Literary Magazine
