The Governors of Haymerle School are seeking to appoint a leader who will build on the school’s successes and take it forwards following the current Headteacher’s decision to retire.
Haymerle School aims to promote progress, ambition, excellence, healthy lifestyles, emotional well-being, tolerance and resilience; we believe that every child, regardless of their background and vulnerabilities should have access to high quality education.
Candidates should have:
• Substantial experience in a senior leadership role in a school
• Experience of developing and strengthening the home/school partnership
• Substantial teaching experience in a school with children with Autism and complex needs
• Successful experience of strategic school improvement planning and identifying priorities.
• Experience of raising achievement of all pupils and particularly those with SEN
• Experience of encouraging and motivating people during times of change
• An understanding of successful financial management
• An understanding of how to effectively support vulnerable children
About the School
Haymerle School is a primary Special School for pupils with Autism located in South East London (SE15 6SY). We support a wide range of learning disabilities including pupils with severe and complex social and communication difficulties. Haymerle School was judged a Good School in our December 2021 OFSTED inspection.
Our recruitment processes follow the guidance in the DfE document Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education. All staff will be required to undertake a disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service. Appointments will be made subject to two professional references.
The post holder will be expected to carry out all duties in the context of and in compliance with the schools Equal Opportunities Policies.
