Manager CIB and UK

HSBC Global Services Limited
London

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager – CIB and UK

Working as a Manager within CIB and UK, you will support the controls oversight agenda across CIB and the UK within the Group Chief Controls Oversight Office (GCCOO). You’ll help deliver the controls oversight plan by producing high-quality reporting and insight, tracking issues and remediation progress and preparing governance materials that keep actions moving. Working across Finance, Risk, Internal Audit, COO/Operations, Control Office and Business Risk you’ll help gather inputs, align narratives and maintain transparency on control performance. Success means consistent execution - clear ownership and evidence for remediation activities, disciplined follow-through from governance forums and reporting that highlights themes, hotspots and root causes. The role sits at the heart of a centralised approach to control standards, aggregated reporting and testing across the First Line of Defence (1LOD).

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Support oversight of the 1LOD control environment across CIB and the UK through analysis, coordination and follow-through
  • Monitor control design and operating effectiveness including documentation completeness, control performance indicators and relevant testing outputs
  • Identify control deficiencies and coordinate remediation activity so owners, milestones, dependencies and evidence requirements are clear
  • Maintain oversight trackers for audit points, regulatory findings and internal control issues and keep progress up to date
  • Produce and maintain MI and reporting packs covering trends, themes, hotspots, root causes and progress against plan
  • Improve reporting quality by strengthening structure, consistency of definitions, data quality and automation opportunities aligned to GCCOO standards
  • Prepare governance materials including committee papers, dashboards, minutes and action tracking and support timely closure of actions
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Internal Audit, COO/Operations, Control Office and Business Risk to gather inputs and align messaging

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bring proven experience supporting control oversight activity within a regulated financial services environment
  • Demonstrate capability monitoring control design and operating effectiveness including documentation standards, indicators and testing outputs
  • Show established experience tracking audit points, regulatory findings and control issues through to evidence-based closure
  • Apply strong reporting and MI skills to produce clear insights on themes, hotspots, root causes and remediation progress
  • Coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups to gather inputs, align narratives and maintain transparency
  • Produce high-quality governance materials including papers, dashboards, minutes and action tracking
  • Use structured judgement to spot duplication, inefficiency or gaps in controls and escalate opportunities to simplify
  • Role-model strong risk and control behaviours including ownership, speak-up, attention to detail and timely escalation
