Nursery Assistant - Join a Warm, Supportive Nursery Team

We're currently looking for a qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our fantastic team on a permanent, full-time basis. Our nursery is based in a spacious, light-filled building in the borough of Lewisham, equipped with modern learning tools and beautiful indoor and outdoor play areas. The nursery is easily accessible by local buses and trains, with Lower Sydenham and Sydenham stations just a short walk away. Location: Lewisham, South East London (Close to Lower Sydenham & Sydenham stations) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: £11.50 – £13.50 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm or 9am–6pm 🌱 Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities As a Nursery Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of helping little ones learn, grow, and thrive. You’ll be part of a passionate team that creates a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore the world through play. Key duties include: * Supporting the development and well-being of children aged 0–5 * Creating fun, age-appropriate learning activities based on the EYFS framework * Assisting with meals, personal care, and hygiene routines * Maintaining a clean and safe nursery environment * Observing and recording children’s progress and behaviour * Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff * Working collaboratively with a caring and skilled team ✅ What We’re Looking For We're looking for someone warm, reliable, and full of energy—someone who truly enjoys working with children and wants to make a difference every single day. Essential Requirements:
- ️ Level 2 or higher Childcare qualification
- ️ Fluent English (both written and spoken)
- ️ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
- ️ Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting
- ️ Strong understanding of early childhood development and EYFS
- ️ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- ️ A kind, patient, and positive approach to working with young children
