Year 4 Teaching Role in a Good Primary School

A well-regarded Good primary school in Harrow is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Year 4 Teacher to join its successful Key Stage 2 team from September. About the Role

You will take responsibility for a Year 4 class, delivering creative and engaging lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum while ensuring pupils make strong academic progress.

Year 4 is an important stage in pupils' educational journey as they continue to develop independence, resilience, and deeper subject knowledge. You will play a key role in strengthening literacy, numeracy, reasoning, and problem-solving skills while nurturing curiosity and confidence.

You will create a positive and stimulating classroom environment where pupils feel supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve their best.

Working closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents, you will contribute to a collaborative culture focused on pupil success and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a Year 4 class across the full Key Stage 2 curriculum

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners

  • Support pupils in developing strong literacy, numeracy, and reasoning skills

  • Assess pupil progress and provide effective feedback

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting procedures

  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and wider school development

  • Support extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2

  • Strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupil wellbeing

Desirable

  • Experience teaching Year 4

  • Experience working in a Good or improving primary school

  • Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life

  • Commitment to continuous professional development
