About the Role

The Security Guard ensures the safety and security of guests, associates, and property at The Chancery Rosewood. This role involves monitoring hotel premises, preventing unauthorized access, and responding promptly to security incidents while being a brand ambassador for our guests, making a great first impression and delivering exceptional service to them at all times.

• Assess and report potential loss situations in the hotel in order that accidental profit loss may be prevented.
• Report and investigate all thefts and criminal offences in the hotel or affecting the hotel, record all relevant incidents to the Security Supervisor, Director of Security, and relevant department heads
• Assess and report potential safety hazards in order that remedial action is taken.
• Identify and removal of anyone who has been assessed to be a risk or nuisance to the hotel, its guests, and associates.
• Assist in the supervision and application of the key control system for all rooms, departments and master keys of the hotel.
• Ensure the secure handling of all cash movements throughout the hotel.
• Assist with enquiries from the police or other emergency or government departments and law enforcement agencies.
• Respond immediately to all fire and DDA alarms and act in accordance with policy and procedures with regard to fire, conducting a full investigation and reporting accordingly.
• Be familiar with emergency procedures such as terrorism lockdown, bomb threats, and power outage. Be able to act as a decisive leader in the event of emergency.
• Check that all fire doors and escape routes are clear and to patrol the building.
• Comply with larger scale safety and security processes for The Chancery Rosewood, such as Crisis Management, Business Continuity, and Threat Conditions.
• Ensure all security and hotel records are written and maintained in the manner instructed by The Chancery Rosewood.
• Assist in the training of associates inside and outside the Security department and to become familiar with processes such as Fire Training, Manual Handling, Ladder Training, Licensing Hours, Health & Safety at work, Associate search policy, and Grievance and Disciplinary procedure
• Ensure personal compliance with Health and Safety, Fire and Hygiene regulations and to ensure that associates are fully aware of their responsibilities in this respect and comply with them.
• Be fully trained in First Aid trained with the minimum 3 day First Aid at Work certificate.
• Be professional and confident when conducting First Aid.
• Record and store all items of lost property.

About you

• A true ‘people person’, with previous experience in customer- or guest-facing security roles preferred.
• A strong and decisive communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• SIA certification preferred.
• An ability to stay calm under pressure and resiliently handle emergencies.
• A working knowledge of safety protocols and first aid.
• An understanding go the flexible nature of the security role, with an ability to work on rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
