Manager, Operational Risk (Advisory & Oversight)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manager, Operational Risk to join a forward-thinking and evolving insurance group.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll provide trusted oversight, challenge, and guidance — ensuring key operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively within appetite. You’ll also drive continuous improvement in the risk and control environment, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and enhance frameworks for identifying, assessing, and monitoring operational risks across people, process, systems, and external factors.
Provide independent risk oversight and challenge to 1st line teams, recommending improvements to strengthen control effectiveness.
Lead or support thematic reviews of key risk areas and present findings to senior management and governance forums.
Contribute to operational resilience initiatives to ensure the organisation can deliver its core services effectively.
Deliver high-quality risk reporting for senior management and governance committees.
Support enterprise-wide risk activities such as RCSAs, risk appetite reviews, and risk reporting.
Build strong relationships across the business to gather insights, influence outcomes, and promote a proactive risk culture.
We’re looking for a confident and collaborative professional with:
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior leaders.
Strong technical knowledge of operational risk management frameworks, tools, and processes.
Proven experience delivering effective risk oversight in complex organisations.
Understanding of business operations, processes, and associated risks (people, process, and technology).
Ideally, experience within insurance or financial services — though not essential.
