Head of Global Events
We are looking for an experienced Head of Events to lead the strategy and delivery of HSBC Private Bank’s UHNW events programme, setting the direction, standards and governance that ensure consistently exceptional client experiences. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders across the business, lead a specialist events team, and run a commercially disciplined, well-controlled portfolio that strengthens engagement and protects HSBC’s reputation.
Key responsibilities
- Own the UHNW events strategy and annual programme, aligned to Private Bank priorities, client needs and brand positioning
- Establish portfolio planning, prioritisation and delivery cadence, ensuring clear objectives, audiences, success measures and plans for each event
- Lead, coach and develop the UHNW events team, setting objectives, managing performance and building capability/succession
- Provide senior oversight for flagship events, driving high production standards, clear workstream accountability and stakeholder alignment
- Own events governance, risk and compliance controls, escalating issues early through to closure
- Manage budget forecasting and reporting, and lead agency/supplier relationships to drive quality, innovation and continuous improvement
Key requirements
- Extensive experience leading high-profile UHNW/HNW events programmes within Private Banking or Wealth Management
- Proven people leadership capability, including driving high performance culture, coaching and team development
- Strong strategic planning and portfolio management skills, with the ability to set standards and deliver at pace across multiple workstreams
- Demonstrable senior stakeholder partnering and influencing skills across a matrix organisation
- Solid commercial discipline: budget ownership, supplier strategy and negotiation experience
- Strong understanding of reputational, regulatory and operational risk in event marketing, multi-market experience and willingness to travel as required
