Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Services Manager to deputise for the Support Services Leader who heads the Support Services Department. This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours/week, on a fixed-term basis for one year, with the opportunity to become permanent following the initial term.

Key Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or vocational qualification in health and social care or a related discipline.

  • At least 5 years experience managing support staff, incidents and difficult situations with resilience within a high supported mental health environment.

  • Excellent knowledge of mental health-related illnesses, challenging behaviours, complex needs, substance misuse and trauma-informed practice.

  • Understanding of the role of statutory agencies involved in mental health.

  • Knowledge of equality, diversity, safeguarding, quality assurance and compliance.

  • Excellent knowledge of support planning and risk assessing client needs.

  • At least 5 years experience working with individuals experiencing mental ill-health, substance misuse, complex needs or social exclusion.

  • Understanding of housing-related support services and tenancy sustainment.

  • Strong computer skills and digital dexterity.

  • Experience in using Customer Relationship Management systems and databases.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to communicate appropriately with people at all levels and capacities.

  • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative to find solutions.

  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload.

  • Warm and friendly demeanour with a positive and open-minded attitude.
