Fabric Technologist
Our client is a leading supplier of multi-product womenswear to the high street. They are now seeking a strong fabric technologist to join their technical team in London.
The objective of the fabric technologist will be to provide technical and administrative support in the sourcing, testing, development and introduction of new fabrics and products, through close working with internal design, production, sales and quality teams.
Fabric Technologist: Responsibilities:
- To provide technical advice on fabric/product specifications and performance and where necessary to, make improvements to a fabric/products performance to meet customers’ requirements.
- To arrange, verify and evaluate the performance of new fabrics and products through testing prototype and bulk fabric/products to customers’ requirements, liaising with internal departments, suppliers and customers.
- To evaluate and control pre-shipment submissions and approvals.
- To submit and maintain fabric/product test reports.
- To maintain/update fabric/ product progress charts, liaising with internal departments, customers and suppliers.
- To liaise, as required, with overseas suppliers and sourcing office on all aspects of fabric/product performance requirements.
- To conduct fabric/product pre-production meetings with suppliers and customers.
- To assess, evaluate and report on customer complaints related to fabric/product performance.
Fabric Technologist: The Person:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in fabric technology with understanding of garment construction
- Must have strong fabric and textile product manufacturing knowledge
- Strong communication skills, team player, customer focused attitude
