What you will be doing
We are looking for an Assistant Health & Safety Advisor to join our growing Health & Safety Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills, gain hands-on experience and work towards becoming a qualified Health & Safety Advisor.
You don t need previous Health & Safety experience to apply. We will provide full training and support, making this an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of, or looking to start, their health & safety career.
Working alongside experienced Health & Safety professionals across a variety of construction & civil engineering projects, you will gain valuable practical experience while helping us maintain and continually improve our strong Health & Safety culture.
What you ll be doing
As an Assistant Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with our Health & Safety Team and operational teams to:
- Support H&S Advisors in promoting high standards of Health & Safety across our projects and wider business.
- Provide practical Health & Safety support to teams at all levels of the organisation.
- Assist with Health & Safety inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Support the development and implementation of Health & Safety initiatives and campaigns.
- Develop your knowledge and experience through on-the-job learning and working alongside experienced H&S professionals.
- Work towards relevant Health & Safety qualifications as part of your professional development.
What We re Looking For
We re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, willing to learn and committed to developing a career in Health & Safety.
You ll ideally have:
- A genuine interest in Health & Safety and a desire to develop a career within the profession.
- An interest in working within the construction industry and promoting high Health & Safety standards.
- Good IT skills and confidence using technology.
- A positive, proactive and hardworking approach.
- The willingness to learn, develop new skills and undertake relevant professional qualifications.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with people at all levels.
Previous experience in construction or Health & Safety would be advantageous, but it is not essential . We are more interested in your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Your development
This role is designed to give you the knowledge, experience and support needed to progress into a Health & Safety Advisor role.
You ll work alongside experienced members of our Health & Safety Team, gaining exposure to a wide range of projects, activities and Health & Safety challenges. We will support you in developing professionally and working towards relevant qualifications as you progress your career.
